Maintain optimum body weight.

Follow a good basic diet by eliminating as many refined foods as possible and adding whole grains, fresh vegetables, and fruits. It's particularly important to avoid sugars, fried foods, preserved meats, red meats, cheeses, cream sauces, and nuts.

Increase your consumption of fish, especially herring, salmon, and tuna, to add fish oils to your diet.

Avoid foods from the nightshade family including tomatoes, potatoes, eggplant, peppers, paprika, cayenne, and tobacco for a month. If you do not experience relief, reintroduce these foods to see if they affect your symptoms.

Avoid the artificial sweetener
Aspartame

Exercise daily for at least twenty minutes. Swimming, walking, and yoga are good choices.

Use a heating pad or moist heat to give relief.

Methionine:
500 mg. Two times daily
MaxEPA:
1,000 mg. Three times daily.
Vitamin E:
400 I.U.daily
Pantothenic acid:

Golden Raisins and gin
Empty raisins into a bowl and pour in just enough gin to cover the raisins. Cover the container with a paper towel. Allow the gin to evaporate (about one week) and then place the moist raisins in a jar with a lid. Eat nine raisins a day.

Purple Pectin for Pain:
Purchase Certo in the canning section of your local grocery. It is the thickening agent used to make jams and jellies. Certo contains pectin, a natural ingredient found in the cell wall plants. There are two recipes:
Take 2 teaspoons of Certo in 3 ounces of grape juice three times a day. As the pain disappears, this can be reduced to 1 teaspoon in juice twice a day.
An alternate approach is to use 1 tablespoon of Certo in 8 ounces of grape juice once daily.

Arthritis Shake:
5 apples
3 plums
1/4 cup fresh or frozen pitted cherries
2 tbs lemon juice
1 cup ice or bottled water
Juice each fruit separately. Combine with lemon and ice. Blend until smooth. Refrigerate leftovers.
